Easy Hummus Recipe with Lemon and Garlic

After you have tried homemade hummus and discover how easy it is to make, you will have a hard time buying store bought hummus again. Once you have the ingredients on hand, it takes 10 minutes and tastes so delicious. You are in complete control of the texture and the flavors. If you are new to eating raw garlic, I recommend you start with 1-2 cloves as it may upset your stomach or you can roast it before blending. Read further if you want to try this basic lemon and garlic hummus recipe. (I have listed the products I used and all the ingredients are found at Whole Foods.)

Ingredients:

2 cartons of Garbanzo Beans 13.4 oz each

(Jack's Quality Organic Low Sodium)

1/3 cup of organic tahini

(Kavala Organic Sesame Tahini)

3-4 garlic cloves peeled (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp of sea salt

1/2 tsp of black pepper

2-3 Tbsp of lemon juice (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup of water

1/4 cup of chives for garnish

Preparation:

Drain and rinse garbanzo beans. Add all ingredients except chives and water to food processor and blend. Slowly add water to establish desired consistancy. Plate then garnish and serve with cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers or anything you love to dip.

Enjoy!
